Fiberglass Pools
You have finally made the plunge to install a swimming pool. Now you’re stuck contemplating the type of pool that will suit your needs.
Whilst there is a whole range of pool types to choose from, you probably cannot go wrong if you choose a fiberglass swimming pool.
Consider the benefits of an in ground fiberglass pool:
Speedy installation of a Fiberglass pool
Fiberglass shells are pre molded in a factory and delivered to your site in one piece. This, consequently, makes for easy and rapid installation.
Essentially, your pool installation crew digs a hole to accommodate the size of the mold, lays the plumbing, adds sand filler, and gently lowers the structure into the ground. They then level the pool, connect the plumbing, and backfill the surrounding area. .Voila! As the weather does not play as large a role in the installation process, you could dive in after around two weeks.
Fiberglass pools low maintenance finish
Your pool surface is coated in a satin smooth gel. This non porous finish is stain resistant for easy cleaning. It is also gentle on the extremities. There are no jagged edges or rough exteriors to harm the skin.
Lower Chemical cost
The gel finish inhibits the adherence of algae. Consequently, less chemicals are needed
The strength of fibreglass pools
The high tensile strength of fiberglass allows your pool shell to flex without cracking to accommodate earth movements. This makes a fiberglass pool installation viable in any soil condition or type.
Low ownership cost
Whilst the initial cost of a fiberglass pool is high, you will fork out less in the long run, in comparison to other pool types. In addition to its algae resistant properties, your fiberglass shell is also a better insulator. Moreover, the structure never needs liner replacements or resurfacing, as opposed to gunite/concrete pools.
Fiberglass pools are salt water compatible
With no potential for corrosion, the fiberglass swimming pool is the best choice for today’s salt purification systems .Just consider how many fiberglass sea worthy vessels spend years floating in a salty ocean.
Ease of repair
Most any type of impact damage can be repaired on site. The only way damage could occur is from a significant impact or improper installation. Additionally, due to the thick fiberglass gel coat surface scratches are easily sanded and buffed
Great design features
Whereas in the past, fiberglass molds were limited, nowadays your choice of styles is much more extensive. Fiberglass pools have great molded steps, benches, coves, and sun deck configurations. Similar to today’s hot tubs, the molds that create the swimming pool designs are well-appointed and lavish. No other construction method has better design options.
Of course, as with any product, there are pros and cons to owning a fiberglass pool. On the whole, though, the advancements in gel coats and resins have created a modern day swimming pool that is extremely strong, flexible, UV resilient, and easy to maintain.
